Local apprentices and trainees set to shine at Queensland training awards
Following the announcement of the finalists for the 2018 Darling Downs and South West Regional Queensland Training Awards, Golden West Apprenticeships is thrilled to have four apprentices and trainees named as finalists.
“We are proud to be celebrating the ongoing achievements of our apprentices and trainees through the Queensland Training Awards” said Camille Johnson, CEO of Golden West Apprenticeships. “Our apprentices and trainees are dedicated to their trades and studies and it is pleasing to see their hard work recognised”.
Mrs Johnson said the shortlisted apprentices and trainees are:
- Chelsea Hayward, plumbing apprentice hosted by the Maranoa Regional Council. Chelsea has been shortlisted in the Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year award category.
- Tayla Dennis, business and tourism trainee hosted by the Maranoa Regional Council. Tayla has been shortlisted in both the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year and Equity VET Student of the Year award categories.

The Queensland Training Awards regional winners for the Darling Downs and South West will be announced at a gala dinner in Oakey in early August.
“Golden West Apprenticeships are proud of all of the apprentices and trainees who were nominated in the Awards and would like to congratulate and wish our finalists all the best in the upcoming regional finals” said Mrs. Johnson.
